Salamander Festival 2018

The Festival began with a guided nature hike at Patriot Park in front of the Sr. Center at 2:00 and then the festival began at 3:00 with this schedule:
3:00 – Animal and Plant displays
4:00 – Welcome from:  Friends of Shades Creek & The City of Homewood
4:10 – Awards, Door Prizes, The Salamander Story, and dancing
4:30 – Presentation – Oak Mountain Wildlife Center Birds – With Owls, Hawks, and more
4:40 – Amber Wilson – Whooping Crane Outreach Program and Talk
Enjoy Music with Rob Angus and his Band!
Learn about Salamanders! See displays about fish, frogs, turtles and birds – Free Arts & crafts for kids to make. Food Plate with chocolate or drinks ($1.00) and popcorn.
Find out about a new invasive plant that is invading river habitats.
